Violation Log
The Violation Log is the complete audit trail of every safety alert Lokawatch has detected. Use it to review incidents, take action on open alerts, export records for compliance reporting, and — for admins — permanently remove records when needed.
Understanding Alert Statuses
Every alert in Lokawatch has one of three statuses:

| Pending | A new alert that has not yet been reviewed by a Safety Officer. Requires action. |
| Acknowledged | A Safety Officer has reviewed the alert and confirmed it as a real incident. It has been logged and actioned. |
| False Alarm | A Safety Officer reviewed the alert and determined the AI detection was incorrect — no real violation occurred. These are used to calculate the False Alarm Rate on the dashboard. |
Filtering Alerts
The top of the Violation Log page has several filter controls:

| Camera | Filter to alerts from a specific camera. This list includes cameras you've since deleted, labeled "(removed)", so old records stay findable. |

| Status | All, Pending, Acknowledged, False Alarm |
| Date range | Start and end date, for pulling a specific period's records |
At the start of each shift, filter by Status → Pending to see only unreviewed alerts that need your attention.
Reviewing an Alert
Click any row in the table to open the violation detail. It shows:
- Snapshot — the frame captured at the moment of detection, upgraded to a full-resolution annotated shot a moment later
- Camera, site, and location — where the violation was detected
- Rule(s) violated — a single alert can carry more than one violation for the same worker at once (e.g. "No Helmet & No Safety Vest") — Lokawatch groups them into one alert per worker rather than firing several separate alerts
- Worker badge — a "Track #N" identity tag for the specific worker this alert is about, when Lokawatch could track them. Click it to filter the whole log down to just that worker on that camera.
- Severity and timestamp
- AI summary — a short natural-language description, when available (arrives a moment after the alert itself)
Acknowledging an Alert
When you have reviewed an alert and confirmed it is a real violation that has been or is being addressed, click Acknowledge in the detail view. The status changes to "Acknowledged" immediately, recording your identity and the time.
Marking an Alert as False Alarm
If you determine the AI made an incorrect detection — for example, a reflection triggered the "no helmet" rule — click False Alarm. False alarms count toward the False Alarm Rate statistic; a consistently high rate is a signal to adjust your detection sensitivity.
Reopening an Alert
Acknowledged an alert or marked it False Alarm by mistake? Click Reopen in the detail view to put it back to Pending. This is available from either status, so a mis-click isn't permanent.
Deleting a Violation Record
Admins only. Unlike Acknowledge/False Alarm/Reopen, deleting a record is permanent — it removes the alert and its evidence image entirely, and cannot be reopened afterward.
Open the violation detail
Click the alert row. The delete option is near the bottom of the detail view, below the acknowledge/false-alarm actions — visible to admins only.
Click "Delete record"
A confirmation prompt appears in place, warning this cannot be undone.
Click "Delete permanently" to confirm
Or click Cancel to back out. Once confirmed, the record disappears from the log immediately.
Use deletion sparingly — it's meant for genuinely bad records (test alerts, data entry mistakes), not for hiding real incidents. For compliance purposes, prefer marking an alert as False Alarm over deleting it — that keeps an audit trail showing it was reviewed and dismissed, rather than erasing that it ever happened.
Exporting to CSV
Click the Export CSV button (top-right of the filter bar) to download the currently filtered view as a CSV file — respecting all active filters, not just the current page.
Use CSV exports for monthly HSE compliance reports, incident documentation for insurance or audits, and offline analysis in Excel or Google Sheets.
